The candidate will possess an understanding of the learning process and the diverse challenges students may experience, while supporting their academic, social, emotional, and spiritual growth. Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to work effectively with teachers, support staff, students, and families.
Responsibilities:
- work with individuals or a small group of students
- implement IEP expectations with the guidance of the teacher/supervisor
- attend meetings with other professionals and/or parents regarding student progress, as required
- supervise students both indoors and outdoors, as specified by the supervisor and/or the school principal
- use assistive technology and equipment that will enable students with exceptional needs to participate more fully
- consult regularly with the supervisor to share notes, observations and issues regarding the assigned student’s instruction and behaviour
- maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment in consultation with the teacher/supervisor
Qualifications and Skills:
Education: Minimum high school diploma, but additional qualifications or related certificates/coursework preferred
Experience: Previous experience with children/youth with exceptional needs an asset
Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, patience, adaptability, and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other staff are essential

Early Childhood Educator-Full Time

This is for an existing vacant position starting in the 2026/2027 school year.
探花精选 is seeking a dynamic Early Childhood Educator who will work collaboratively with the classroom teacher to plan and implement a full day blended kindergarten program. The ECE will provide supervision and age-appropriate programming for groups of students, as required. In addition, the ECE will collaborate on the design of programs and environments which will enhance children's cognitive, physical, social, spiritual, and emotional development. Other duties of this role include assisting children with washroom routines, dressing, and lunchtime activities, as well as accompanying students on field trips and attending professional development activities organized by the principal.
Qualifications:
- Two-year community college Early Childhood Education Diploma;
- Registration with the College of Early Childhood Educators;
- Knowledge of Ministry of Education full-day Early Learning Program;
- Agreement with the faith statements of 探花精选 and be an active and committed follower of Jesus Christ
- Ability to communicate in a sensitive, courteous manner with children, parents, staff and the public;
- Understanding of and commitment to confidentiality;
- Ability to follow directions, policies and procedures in an appropriate and timely manner;
- Experience in planning and implementing age-appropriate programs;
- Basic computer skills;
- Strong organization and time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to stand/walk for extended periods and move/carry equipment for program;
- Must be able to physically assist children as required (e.g. lifting, bending, crouching, reaching, etc.)

Part-Time Primary Music and Prep Coverage Teacher

探花精选 is seeking a passionate and faith-filled educator to join our team as a Part-Time Primary Prep Coverage Teacher beginning September, 2026. This role will primarily provide music instruction to students in the primary grades, with the possibility of other classroom prep coverage responsibilities. The position will consist of two half-days per week.
Responsibilities
- Provide engaging and developmentally appropriate music instruction for primary students
- Lead singing activities and support school musical performances and worship opportunities
- Direct or assist with student choirs as needed
- Foster a Christ-centered classroom atmosphere that reflects the mission and values of the school
- Work collaboratively with staff, administration, and families
Qualifications
- Ontario teaching qualifications and certification in good standing
- Experience teaching vocal music is preferred
- Experience leading choirs or musical ensembles is considered an asset
- Commitment to Christian education and the integration of faith into learning
- Strong classroom management and interpersonal skills
- CSTC (Christian School Teacher Certificate) is considered an asset
